Literary Soirees

Teresa Vilardell & Marc Villanueva Mir

Inspired by the literary soirees that many authors organized at their places in the 19th century, these soirees offer the possibility to get to know or rediscover the works by different writers - such as August Strindberg, Arthur Rimbaud, Herta Müller or Zakaria Tamer - and enjoy them in a sociable atmosphere. More than a staged reading, these soirees are an invitation to approach every author from different perspectives. In this sense, each soiree is specifically designed to evoke certain literary world, with different performers, the collaboration of musicians and university professors, and a drink connected to the world of the author, from coffee with cardamom for Tamer to absynthe for Rimbaud.

The annual season of these soirees was first presented in 2013 at the Teatre Akadèmia (Barcelona), and was celebrated ever since until 2016.
